This book was good. I’ve never read this author before and I liked her writing style, I thought it flowed well.

I liked both main characters, they were very different but also had similar fears of not being loved.

The last 5% or so was pretty boring and seemed like multiple repetitive spice scenes. This didn’t end on a cliffhanger but the prologue basically sets up the next book, which I may read if I remember when it comes out.

This was good, ok ....like real good.

I loved Rom. He started out all grey and tough and sh*t -- and was basically reduced to a love struck toddler around Mia. He's been through the wringer (pls read the TWs) and I love that Mia is his person; his safe space in the world where he actually starts to heal. Which is all very strangely alluring because this emotional connection is happening against the violent background of Mafia wars and bloodshed. Mia felt a little too flighty & feminine - but then, she sees through Rom's BS and holds on tight - and I loved her a little harder for that.

I liked this book a lot but my ADHD self kept getting distracted by the Cos & Fabi sidestory. That looks like its going to be trouble with a capital T and I can't wait .....

Be with Me is the explosive start to a new series of interconnected standalones following the powerful and dangerous Ferraro brothers—and I was obsessed from the very first chapter. This story is packed with forbidden love, family secrets, political scandal, and just the right amount of danger to keep you on edge.

Mia Morales is a strong, grounded FMC who’s trying to do the right thing for her family, even if it means sacrificing her own dreams. Romolo Ferraro is the kind of morally gray MMC who will destroy the world or fall to his knees for the woman he loves. Their chemistry is everything, and the spice? Absolutely delicious.

I loved how Mia embraced her ambition and didn’t shy away from wanting more—from life, love, or power. The stakes are high, the tension is sharp, and the romance is addictive. Gabrielle Sands delivered the perfect balance of heat and heart, and I cannot wait to see what’s next for the Ferraro family.

If you’re into forbidden romance, rich mob drama, and heroines who don’t play small—this is your next must-read.

"He wasn’t an easy person to understand. Or to love. But I’d fallen anyway."

Be With Me is a tough read at times. It broke me in the best possible way. For every on the page heartbreak there were so many beautiful moments of connection and building something better from the ashes of the past. Romolo and Mia both carry heavy burdens as a result of trauma/neglect. Both have been shaped by life and neither trusts easily. And from a situation that pitted them against each other, with his mafia family at odds with her politically aspiring father, comes a soul deep bond that overcomes any emotional wounds they each have.

I adored how devoted Romolo was. He oozed possessive protection. I loved his ways to manipulate situations to get closer to Mia. And I loved her (misplaced) loyalty. She was so in need of validation and approval that she was being run ragged by her family commitments. In Romolo she finds peace and acceptance of herself.

This is a gorgeous Romeo and Juliet retelling with two warring families and two people destined to fall in love in spite of the differences. Together they are stronger. The narrative is a teasing slowish burn romance. But the passion when they ignite is explosive and unrivalled.

An all round five star mafia romance.
