Absolutely phenomenal. Can’t wait for the second one to come out. Brought new life to the Snow White tale and humanized the Evil Queen to me in a surprising way. Yes she’s still the evil queen, but there’s more to her. Loved the huntresses and the magic surrounding it all. Literally will probably preorder the second one and I’ve never preordered anything in my life.

2.8 stars.
It was good but I got bored with it around 60% because it was the same inner battle over and over again. I’d like to have more detail of everything else in this magical place. And like ugh I wish I knew this was a series that ended not a cliff hanger type thing. That’s just not my style for books these days I’m recovering from burnout so like I cannot read longer drawn out stories right now.
There was minimal spice (basically one scene) and minimal magic which is ironic given how this is a Snow White retelling.

3 stars. I thought the writing in this was pretty good. It’s just that man was this a slog to get through. The first 45% or so I was just waiting on something anything to happen. Things did eventually pick up and get kind of interesting but it was still just not something that held my attention. Snow and her huntress Devana were pretty bland but their romance was sweet. I’ll probably read the next book when it comes out but this first one left a lot to be desired.
