This book was interesting. I really didn't think that I would like this book, but I surprisingly enjoyed it. Now this book is by no means the best Colleen Hoover book, but I can say I don't think it's the worst either. I want to read all of Colleen's books, so I of course had to read this one.

I have heard a few people say it was predictable, I can say I read the back of the book and I guessed what was going to happen. It was a little bit like Verity, but like the Walmart version.

I have never read a supernatural romance..... it was a little weird to wrap my head around. I thought that the concept about the romance was odd to say the least and I kinda felt a little uncomfortable. This is kinda random but I couldn't stand Layla's sister and her boyfriend.

This book wasn't at all scary. I was interesting and I wanted to know how it ended but I didn't really feel the thriller aspect of it. I also thought the ending was a little rushed. I felt like Colleen didn't know how to end this book, so she left it on a cliffhanger then added a useless epilogue that didn't do anything for me.

I love how I started the review saying I liked the book than this whole thing has been me talking about everything I didn't like. I thought the book was super interesting. It had me hooked and wanting more till the end. Colleen hasn't failed me yet!

A wild, wild ride. CoHo did an excellent job with her first paranormal romance and I ate up EVERY word. So many twists, so mysterious with the tension building each chapter and more unanswered questions rising. I loved it.
A few grammar errors which happens on kindle unlimited but I didn’t mind that one bit. Great story!

Not my favorite of Hoover’s by far, this novel was just okay for me mainly because of how unbelievable the plot was. Hoover even writes characters who can’t believe the plot so I don’t know how the reader was expected to. I felt like Leeds was kind of an unredeemable character in that he validates his behavior against Layla by using information he didn’t have before he did the thing. This makes me uncomfortable because the thing was still wrong because he didn’t have all the pertinent information when he did it. I did like how intense the writing was — it made you want to get to the end to know what was happening — but I wouldn’t want to read this for the first time again, like I’ve wanted to with Hoover’s other novels.
