Okay first, update on fun story time from book #2; the spider bite is healed. My brain has now decided “KILL IT WITH FIRE” is the appropriate response to seeing spiders.
*This did not affect my enjoyment of the book, so if spider-ick is what’s holding you back go ahead and try it anyways.

A satisfying ending to a good story.

I loved the first two books, especially book 2 had me so gripped. I was really in love with the world and the queen was such a compelling villain. This book? It dragged, the pacing was so slow. I also really hated that
Ivy got pregnant
- it's so unnecessary and I could feel myself caring less and less about what was going to happen in the story afterwards. It's my least favorite trope but seems so commonplace in sci fi romance fml. A disappointing, rushed and far too convenient ending too.

I liked the relationships between the Vrix and especially getting to meet the Thornskulls and how their society differed from Ketahn's people. Getting to know the humans a bit more was good too but I still feel like I want to know more about them.

I enjoy the world and the Vrix so much I'll probably read the spin offs, but only if there's no spider babies!

I think the first two books were a bit better. This was good at the start and the end but the middle did drag a bit when they were on their endless journey. It just got a bit tedious and I started skimming. I found I was interested in the friend characters more than Ivy and Ketahn, so I’ll probably read the spin off books. Their interactions with each other got a bit repetitive.
Pregnancy trope was not for me.

Well wtf, what a great story!! Never would I have thought this would become a favorite of mine and here we are. GREAT story, banter, friendship, found family, spice, adventure and I couldn't put it down!! I love them all, the ending is wonderful even if there was some tears along the way.

Highly recommend!
