Didn't catch me. I skipped around after 17% and read the ending because it was supposed to be surprising. I wasn't that surprised.
Probably better suited for a younger demographic.

I'm giving this book a 3.5, but rounding up to a 4. It had potential, but it dragged a lot, and as for it being a 'love story'...yeah, no. The book is mainly about Hazel trying to become a doctor.
Also, I hate insta-love, but this one wasn't too bad.
As for characters, I absolutely ADORE Jack, and Hazel and Iona were great as well!
I wasn't crazy about Jack and Hazel at first, but I loved them by the end.
There is some sorcery liquid potion stuff at the very last chapter, and I can see it will be introduced into the second book, so I unfortunately will not be reading Immortality for the time being.
Don't let that detours you, though, because while it is a duology, it can absolutely be read as a stand alone.
3.5 stars, rounding up to 4
