This book was easy to finish because it kept me engaged the entire time. It was a great spin on a love story, I found myself hating character and falling for the subtle love story. It didn’t feel cheeky nor overbearing like some books, I will say Dr.Beechman’s truth was a bit ehh…but the ending was nice. Overall a great read! I think I’ll pick another book from this other soon.

Low 4.
I pretty much enjoyed my time here, and I loved the overall premise. I just wish the book was longer to flesh out (pun intended) some of the minor downfalls.
The downfalls: plotholes.
Not gaping ones. But ones that bug me.
What do you mean her betrothed comes to visit her house often and sees men's boots so he thinks she has someone else and doesn't want her to be a surgeon, but then

**spoilers**

he doesn't realize she's running an entire community hospital out of that same house until her other boy gets stabbed? That doesn't make sense to me. Other things like that that just have me going *narrows eyes*
We could've had more room for drama and angst and yearning if some of these plotholes had been fleshed and played with (ew? sorry) instead of just.. open.

The dialogue though? The characters? Great. I really liked it. I will be continuing with book 2.

It was nice?
I mean obviously I loved the setting and the topic of surgery and resurrection men. But. There was something missing from it all.
The characters mostly were lacking somewhat in depth and details.
The love story was also quite rushed and there as a sort of background - which would have been fine if the basically the final paragraphs weren’t all about how this love changed their lives.
Overall I would still suggest reading it because it was fun. But I didn’t feel any connection to the characters.
