Carino, protagonista adorabile, ma mi è sembrato tutto un po' troppo frettoloso.
Il finale non mi ha convinta del tutto, Stefano hai fatto decisamente di meglio in vita tua.

Fantastic. I think this is a great work by Stephen King. Just the right balance of horror, comedy, and suspense. I sometimes think Mr. King does better when he writes short stories and this one is a true winner

I read this book in like two hours, because I couldn't put it down. I wasn't a big fan of "Joyland," but I like crime, and I like horror, so I figured eh, why not try again? And the one thing I can always appreciate when picking up a King novel is that he is always reliable, the book will deliver, and that's why I'm a fan.
"Later," is a great blend of horror, crime, and the supernatural, delivered from a coming-of-age point of view. The book follows Jamie, a young boy who can see and communicate with the dead in the backdrop of New York City. I like that it skips over details about the tricky things of the "undead," like the hows and whys, and is honestly just like "I don't know why these things happen, I'm learning it myself."
However, Jamie’s gift soon attracts unwanted attention from Liz, his mom's former lover and a corrupt NYPD detective, which leads to a chilling encounter with a malevolent spirit for the first time.
Jamie's innocence and courage drives the narrative. His interactions with the dead are portrayed with a realistic blend of curiosity and fear, showing what happens when a child is forced to deal with an otherworldly burden. His mom is equally compelling, a fiercely protective mother navigating the challenges of single parenthood and the moral dilemmas posed by Jamie’s gift.
I really adore this book, and all the characters are so likeable and different in their own ways. The dynamics work here, because your friends can sometimes be assholes too, especially when driven by human motivations. All of the threads tie together very nicely - though think of it more like an episode of Miami Vice with someone who can see and talk to dead people.
