Dabbling back into King and this caught my attention as weird but not too weird and I think that’s fairly accurate. Sixth Sense meets elements of vintage King with a layer of family drama, with Jamie and his mom going through financial tough times , and then her ex getting them further into trouble. The ending was anticlimactic, which will always be a King issue. Interesting first person perspective on this

Good ghost story, as per King the ending was ehh.
Finally!! Stephen King has finally written a long awaited book that gives the true feeling of a Stephen King book. For me, its about Stephen Kings characters. Father Callahan,Dick Hallorann,Mother Abagail,Tom Cullen,Jack Sawyer & Wolf etc.His recent books I dont remember any of those characters. Jamies narrative sucked me in with this book and he will be one of the many amazing characters I will remember
He writes from a childs pov where they have fo stare down some crazy horror. Later brought home the true magic after a long long wait.
I wont spoil anything for you but from the first page to the last i truly felt I wqs reading a Stephen King book. I was taken out of this World and brought into his World. Which like most Of his old stories isnt the best place to be but after so many of his recent books that just felt blah this was truly an awakening
This book is a five-star for me. There was only one thing I didn't like about it. One. And I’m going to forgive it because for the most part, I was happy and He’s still has his writing skills.

I get scared very easily, and this being my first Stephen King book I was basically expecting to be scared out of my mind, which very decidedly did not happen HA. ummm it was interesting to say the least. I definitely wasn't expecting the ending so it's got that going for it. but like, overall, Stephen what was the point? did we need to go there? really?

3½-4 stars.
Not as good as Joyland (in my opinion) but still a fine story about a young boy and his spectacular gift... if you consider it a gift. Though - 'Later' is darker and more bloody than Joyland.
