Another fine book from my favorite. For me, this was the most satisfying of the three books King has written for Hard Case Crime, and it sticks the landing well in that space between a crime novel and a horror novel (and a coming of age novel, for that matter). The plot is tight and propulsive, and the character voices work. Usually, there's one or two characters in the average King novel whose dialogue hits my ear wrong. Not here. I devoured the first half in one sitting, then spaced out the rest of the reading over the week. Could have done it in one setting if I'd started earlier in the day last Sunday.

Gives more of the later Stephen King feel. Not as wholesome as elevation but not as gorey and horror that I expected

SPOILER ALERT/ TRIGGER WARNING:
It would have been ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ had it not been for the incest.

Kinda phoned in, but still enjoyable and the voice actor was very good. It's a good beach listen.

This book has an unnecessary amount of racial slurs, but then again it’s SK.

Classic Stephen King novella that you can’t put down. Jamie can see dead people, but his soul is in danger after helping a NYPD officer trying to stop a killer from beyond the grave
