This is my favorite of the series so far, even with Tessa going off the deep end. I love watching her devolve into pure chaos. I know she’ll bounce back, but it’s refreshing to see a heroine not constantly about her morales. Tessa does what feels right, even if it’s wrong, and I love that for her story arc.
I have no comment on Theon because I’ve wanted to punch him in the face since he stole Tessa’s chocolate. He exists in this book.
But Luka. Someone protect that dragon baby or I will. He just wants to be loved and the world keeps kicking him. He’s also the only one that hasn’t lost the plot at this point, surely because he’s the rational one of this triad. Imagine. A hot-headed dragon is the voice of reason, but here he is delivering.

3.5. Maybe 4? Ending was exciting but also a bit meandering? There’s also so much lore and worlds I can’t keep track of it all. And I grow tired of Tessa and her lack of trust/listening. But I think I will read book 4. I’m confident I’ll have no idea what is happening when it comes out but oh well.

I realize I’m in the minority here, but here it goes….
This is not 5 stars only because Tessa is probably my least favorite FMC ever. The constant playing the victim and refusing to listen to anyone when they’re showing her over and over that they care about her is infuriating. The fact that someone kept information from her (for a reason) doesn’t mean they betrayed her and I’m so tired of hearing her whine about it. She could be such a good/ strong character if she wasn’t such a PITA and didn’t want to be a villain so bad. I understand she has trauma but enough is enough. However, with that ending, I’m sure she will be even worse in the next book.
