I appreciate that the author includes a recap at the beginning of these books! But yikes this did not need to be 600+ pages. It took me a long time to power through this one! It was soooo repetitive. FMC doesn’t trust anyone. She repeats these angry mantras of being too reckless too wild over and over and it gets old after 600 pages! Axels story is the only thing saving this book but it also adds more complexity. I am struggling to follow all the gods and kingdoms and names. I’m also not a fan of the MFM trope. Why do they both like her so much when she’s just a crabby brat?

This series continues to not disappoint!! Tessa is coming into her own but still has so much to learn. Luka has my heart forever - the broody dragon is EVERYTHING! The tension between him and Tessa is amazing.
Theon and Axel continue to reckon with their roles. Luka is pulled in so many directions. And almost everyone’s true intentions are still unclear.
The twists keep on coming, and the story builds to another ending that left my heart broken and my jaw on the floor. I can’t believe I have to wait until fall for the last book, but I’m so excited to see how this ends!

This book only got 4 stars bc of the plot alone. As I mentioned in a previous review, it looked like it was headed into a 3 way relationship and not to my surprise, that’s what happened. Now, I love Luka’s character but the romance portion of this series is over for me. However, the main plot is beyond amazing so I will read the next book when it comes out next year. I love the romance portion of books, so this is really disappointing to me. If you enjoy these types of relationships in your books then I love that for you, it’s just not my preference. Theon has had some amazing character growth and I enjoy his POV chapters much more now. Things have really heated up and gotten interesting thus far and I’m excited to see how it ends.
