Coming from someone who is not new to this field, I still found it an engaging read full of meaningful reminders. Even if I did not learn anything new, reading Bola's personal takes was affirming for me.

Bola's personal stories and perspective kept me reading. His analyses are flawless, if somewhat short and introductory.

As he says at the end, this is a book for anyone who is just starting to think about these things, wishing for someone to talk to. For anyone matching that description, from teenager to geezer, this will be a great gift. I'm hesitant about whether Bola really pitches it to any incoming reader, but perhaps there simply is no easy way around it.

An essential book for teenage boys to understand how patriarchy operates and to unlearn harmful masculinity. (It is however quite basic for those who are familiar with feminism.)
