So I have been going through some of my old books and after reading parts of this book and refreshing my memory, I have additional thoughts on the series.
1. I genuinely did not like the power dynamic that was between Lo and Connor. The writers made it so that Connor was this robotic, smart and all knowing character. That doesn’t mean that it was necessarily unrealistic but it was just something that was forced down my throat on numerous accounts.
2. Ryke most definitely groomed Daisy. The fact that the authors of this book were able to push out so many books based on their situation is disgusting and very disturbing. Why would someone ever think it would be okay to pair these two people together. Ryke even admitted to j*rk#ng of to Daisy when she was a minor. That screams creep behavior.
3. Maybe I’m just too small minded or something but why was everyone okay with Loren’s brother dating Lily’s sister. Half brother or not it felt very weird.
4. Back to the Connor issue. I really didn’t like how he was made to seem like a “god”. No one in the entire series could stand up to him and hold their own. Not even Jonathan Hale. And I understand that Jonathan was a toxic parent and person in general but I genuinely wish he had put Connor in his place at least once.
5. I also think that one of the problems with this book is that no one died. After 10 books at least one main character should have died. I honestly do not understand why a series should go on for this long especially when it’s not fantasy (cash grab). If someone in the inner circle had perished that would have made for a great book (I volunteer Connor or Daisy)
6. Also, I really didn’t like how the writers kept introducing new characters only for them to pair up and be in a relationship. I don’t see any serious reason why everyone and their significant others needed to be the best of friends.
I think that rounds up the issues I had for now. Honestly the whole series was tired and that is the truth. However, no one begged me to read it so who am I to judge
