The Tradd Street series is always fun to read. Charleston is one of my favorites places to visit, and Karen White does a wonderful job incorporating the beautiful old homes there into her novels in this series. While the plots are very entertaining, the setting is what I enjoy reading about the most – details about the architecture, the history, the hidden passages, the moldings, and the other fixtures found in historic homes.
As the series progresses, Melanie’s character continues to mature although she struggles significantly in this novel. Series appeal to me because seeing the characters develop from novel to novel is an added benefit and that holds true here The one section of the story that didn’t not ring true to me was the relationship between Jack and Jayne.
Thanks to Berkley Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A charming Charleston setting with the backdrop of old houses with lots of history. I've read the first book in this series and now this one, and while I've missed quite a bit of the back story, the book fills in enough details that I wasn't totally lost (though I wouldn't recommend starting with this book to those looking to pick up the series). What I think was expected to be the primary "twist" in this book was easily spotted, but the story was overall interesting and full of great characters. The "ghostly" elements of this one are the best part of this book. Fans of the series will happily note that there are some unresolved plot points that hint towards more to come.

The Guests on South Battery ( Tradd Street #5) is a 2017 Berkley publication.
All our familiar friends, family, and frenemies are gathered together once again. We also make a few new friends along the way too.
This series has been a delight from the very beginning and is one my very favorites.
I do recommend reading the previous installments to understand the dynamic between Melanie and Jack, as well as the supporting cast. For those who are following along, this is a solid addition to the series and I think you are going to enjoy it immensely.

Book #5 and now the characters in the book are yelling at Melanie to just put on her glasses already. At least someone shares my frustrations.
Also she literally has SPREADSHEETS FOR INFANTS!!! This woman needs a LOT of psychological evaluation.

A little predictable in places, but still more enjoyable than the last two books.
I can't help but love this series! Pure entertainment.
I think that my like for this series has come to an end. There were many things that I enjoyed about this series but this one just had to many things that I found annoying. The main character just got to me in a bad way. The level of immaturity that she has shown in the series reached a breaking point for me. There has been no growth in her, she has stayed the same or gotten worse in immaturity even though her personal life has changed. Also, the level of zero communication was ridiculous. If the characters just talked and shared their feelings with one another this book did not need to happen. I think that I hung in with this series more so than others but it is now my time to bid ado to it.
Another fun book from Karen White! I've already read the last one in the series, so now the wait begins....
