I thought that at times the pace was quick and we were jumping to certain points. However, I enjoyed the book and all of the characters. I got everything I wanted and would be happy to read its sequel when it comes. If you’re trying to get into fantasy this is a good book to start with!

SCREAMING. I really liked this book overall. I think Vaasa was just a tiny bit too prickly at times, but given her history it made sense. And THAT ENDING OMG, I need to read the next book desperately

the writing was a bit choppy and the character arc was a bit flat, but the twist was pretty good and we die for a golden retriever who is down bad from day 1
