Felt very outdated and exaggerated for shock value. Not a fan.

Recommended by Patrick Page as he referenced this book during his one man show off Broadway, "All the Devils are Here." And the Creation of the Villain.

If you take anything away take this.

1 in 25 people is a Sociopath.

My mom gave me this satistic like 1 in 8 people who suffered from poor mental health in North America and I laughed.
I had a party of 10 people over at my house and I could name at least 5 people out of those 10 people who suffered from poor mental health. (If not more).

So 1 in 25 people being a Sociopath. When at his show there were like 50 people and the chances of minimum 2 of them being sociopaths is just wild.

And it has to do with having a conscience. A lot to do with it.

Such an interesting read. I feel I learn a lot from these non-fiction books that are about science and not preachy motivational books.

Starts out very disturbing but is uplifting in the end. It also provides for a better means for understanding how to deal with the sociopaths we all encounter in life.

Interesting insight to the mind of people I don’t really understand. This book was very well written, the author did a wonderful job explaining situations and science based knowledge explaining these types of people. Great read.

I am confused by this book. I liked how Stout wrote everything, how she somehow tried to give some basic information about the topic, and told stories of what I think are former patients.

But I have a problem with this book as well, and it is how it can lead to a witch hunt for potential sociopaths. Also, for what I know sociopathy and psychopathy are different things, and in the first pages she mentions that sociopaths are also known as psychopaths, which desperates me, porque ajà. I'm glad I finished this book.

I really enjoyed this book! It is really different than anything I typically read, but I found it interesting and was unable to put it down. I flew through this book, as I found the writing to be easy to read and not too complicated with scientific/psychological language. The examples used throughout the book accurately demonstrated the points the author was trying to make and made the information stick with me. I would definitely recommend this book!
