Frozen Hearts and Death Magic is an extremely entertaining book that I have thoroughly enjoyed it is extremely entertaining and one that I cannot wait to read the second book to. The only reason it gets three stars instead of five stars is because it contains one of my least favorite tropes in it, the miscommunication trope and so the whole time I was upset that these characters were upset at the other when they could have easily just asked why they said that thing instead of wondering why they did something so out of character.

Yeah no, not my thing. It was ticking all the major tropes, which I knew going in but still could not handle.

When I read the blurb for this novel I knew it would be a great read. It piqued my interest and I was very much looking forward to reading it.

Frozen Hearts and Death Magic follows multiple characters and brings them all together.
Naia (an ironbringer of Umbraar) who is set to be her twin brother's advisor, when he takes their father's throne. Naia has other plans for a future and it isn't one that is chosen for her.
Whilst struggling with her magic powers and new life she meets River - her new future has already began changing.
Leah (a necromancer Princess of Frostlake) has to find a husband in less than four days. She can have any Prince she wants—except one, Naia’s brother. But he’s the only one she wants. With relationships to navigate and a looming war, things aren't easy for any of our characters.
River - the Fae, that has taken Laia's fancy. There's a lot more to him that meets the eye and I have a feeling it's not all good
The writing was detailed and informative, especially since it was written from each character's pov.

I loved the world building and the characters development. The story played out well, the kidnappings, the fights, the potential betrayals kept me enthralled.

I loved the relationship between Naia and River, I enjoyed that it wasnt drawn out and hit fast and hard. I liked how their eternal devotion had an underlying issue, which I though came in very handy for Naia when River was being vague and how I questioned River's motives more than once but he came through at the end.
Leah and Fel's relationship however I felt was a bit slow and took a back seat to Naia and River. I did enjoy the moment she finally decided her truth.

This Fae Romance is captivating and a really enjoyable read. I look forward to reading book 2.

2 chapters in and I hated the childish vibe of these characters.  They talked like they were 10.

I wasn't getting on with the writing style and use of first person present tense, but was carrying on for the interesting plot. At 26 percent we're hit with a miscommunication plot point  (while I understand why it is there, it's telenovela inspired after all, there needs to be drama!) that I really really dislike. I just know I'd get more and more frustrated reading it, even though I really want to know what happens!

"Love is a strange, wild thing, isn't it ? It gets caged in such a little word."

With gorgeous cover and interesting plot, suffice to say this was an enjoyable read for me!

This story is about love, betrayal, secrets and political issue between kingdoms filled with magical creatures and powers!
The plot is well crafted and pretty well written, although the pacing was a bit too fast in the first few chapters and feel slightly slower in certain parts of the story.

The world building is truly fascinating, but I wish some things were explained in the first few chapters of the book about how the magical power works for different kingdoms.
It took a while for me to get hooked into this story, because the plot progresses slightly in a slower rate before all the pieces started coming together. But once you understand it, you'll enjoy it more just like I did!

As for the characters, they're all likeable and I love reading all four main characters POV since each of them have their own story that will provide information for the readers to understand the main plot.

There's Isofel (Fel), the kind and honorable man with his twin sister Naia, who wants to live free from her brother's shadow. There's also the mysterious Fae that Naia help, River and the beautiful Frostlake princess, Leah who holds Isofel heart and has much more power than she realize.

I thought the romance part between the two couples are going to have an insta love relationship, fortunately it's nothing like that.
Naia and River as well as Fel and Leah romantic relationship have the potential to be more, it just need a bit more time to develop. Hopefully, we'll get to see more of them in the next book!
Spoiler Moreover.....River you have a lot of work to do to gain the my trust and Naia's back! I really like him but I started to get frustrated near the ending just like Naia. Hopefully, he'll learn his mistakes and start doing the hard way!
As for Leah and Fel, I hope they finally got together and start communicating more before assuming the worst!

Overall, this was an enjoyable and entertaining read! With so many secrets in this book, I still have a lot of questions and I'm hoping to got the full answers in the next book!
The ending doesn't have a huge cliffhanger but it does makes you feel excited to know more about it. I'm looking forward to read the next book in this duology!

If you're a reader who loves to read fantasy with slow burn romance and unique magical world building then I suggest checking this one out!

"You know something ? Destroying is easy. Breaking things apart is easy. Splitting is easy. It hurts, but it's easy, it requires no effort. You wanted to go about it the easy way.
Getting together, loving, building things, that's messy, hard, that takes work. Do you want to go about your plans and watch me leave ? It's easy. or do you want to go about it the hard way ?"

A huge thank you to the author, Day Leitao for giving me this digital copy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion, also thank you to TBR and Beyond Tours for allowing me to be a part of the book tour!

When I read the blurb and saw the cover of this book I knew I had to read it. Frozen Hearts and Death Magic is a book set in the world of dark magic with some intriguing elements like different supernaturals, political conspiracy, unpredicted twists and a dark and tricky plot.

I loved the MCs and their development is the best. The writing style and multiple POVs kept me hooked till the end. Fantasy lovers, this book is a treat for you.
