We pick up following the events of Rejected Wolf. Esme has been working through all of the past memories that were returned to her. Among the revelations were sėxual assåult and the resulting retribution. At the pack’s suggestion, Esme undergoes therapy, but quickly grows tired of her guys treating her with kid gloves.

While we met the second set of twins, Xave and Kylo, in RW, we get to know them better in this installment as they become more ingratiated in the pack. We, likewise, see more one-on-one interaction between Esme and each of her mates when they take her on dates.

Throughout this installment we learn more about Esme’s past, her connection to the Luna pack as well as to Luna herself. As Esme grows stronger, so does her power and connection with the goddess Luna which enables her to grow into her role as pack leader.

I enjoyed the storyline and the direction the story took. The series was interesting overall and there was no lack of action in the trilogy. I wish I would have connected more with Esme. Her demeanor, and even the way she spoke, did not seem befitting a pack leader let alone a goddess incarnate. As in RW, the flow was a bit clunky and disjointed at times, but it was still an enjoyable series.

A pretty great ending to a pretty great series

I would have given 5 stars, but the editing seemed worse in this book than it did even in the others. The story ITSELF was pretty great. It concluded the mystery of the demonic wolves in a reasonable amount of time - it didn't drag on, but it didn't end too abruptly either. It ended a bit quicker than I expected but it wasn't a bad thing. It actually worked well.

*** BIG SPOILERS AHEAD***

I was minorly surprised that Reed called the pack to let them know where Esme was. Especially since he was still an arse in the end. I'm a little confused with his psycho butt. He wanted to be her mate again and be a part of the pack, yet was still sleeping with his ex - okay, fine. He then kept trying, until the pack put him in his place (even then he still tried by sending gifts). Did he just want the extra girl to bang? What was his motive? In the end, I wondered if he'd be the bad guy or be redeemed, and I was impressed with how he ended up. Usually books make them end up one way or another, so this was a cool change. I kind of had hope for him, despite him being a jerk throughout, but sucks to be him!

good read

So happy this book was longer!

I don’t think this series should’ve been called Moon Born Academy. They literally spent two weeks in school. How was everybody in the parents pack rich except Esme’s dad? In this dire situation, why would Kai tell her she doesn’t kill? Finding the scientist was anticlimactic. Why did Reed become obsessed at the end? How did Krew survive when everybody else died?

Yes!! Watching Esme come into her own was great. Now that she has unlocked what happened to her as a child she has to work through all of her feelings and emotions. Her guys all care for her so freaking much and tried to coddle her a bit too much for which she stood up for herself and I loved it. After all she is an Alpha. I loved watching the relationship between her and each of her guys grow and flourish and watching them each take her on a date so amazing. They all fit so well with one another. The conclusion to this trilogy was everything I wanted and it was a greatly great series and would highly recommend.
