Powerful lessons on forgiveness and turning your life over to God and letting Him make more of it than you possibly can. I probably would have enjoyed it a little more if I hadn't read so many WWII books this year already - I'm a little tired out emotionally from all the horror that man is capable of committing against other humans. What I really liked about Corrie ten Boom's story, though, is how it plainly shows that it's possible for the absolute worst humanity has to offer in one person to somehow bring out the absolute best humanity has to offer in another person. This one is hard, but inspirational.
I can’t believe I have never read this until today. Absolutely life changing book. Lord have mercy on me, a sinner.

I found this book moving. I love books from the World War II era. I especially enjoyed this one because it is the story of one of the people who hid the Jews because that is what God said was right.

If you want to see what true Christianity really looks like, read this book. I loved Corrie as narrator, as she is not as "perfect" as her sister (who I also loved) - Corrie struggles and she wonders at the evil and unfairness in the world (so relatable) yet she preservers and does the right thing - at great risk to herself and her loved ones. Just an amazing story - more so because it is true.
