This was my third time reading The Hiding Place—once for myself in my 20s, once with one of my kids for school, and this time with my small discipleship group. This is not a five star read because of its literary merits or beautiful prose. It’s five stars because it is a beautiful testimony not just to the faithfulness of God, but also to what it is to truly walk in the Spirit as a Christian.
I read this as part of a mother-daughter book club when I was in high school. I remember being enthralled with the story... and then I was SHOCKED and AWED when Corrie ten Boom came to our book club meeting to talk with us about her experiences. Amazing encounter. Heart wrenching and warming story.
4.5 stars. this book is so amazing. it's so crazy to think that all of this happened. I was throughly hooked at the end, but the only reason I won't give five stars is because of the beginning. I understand that it's there for a reason, but I found that it was boring until around chapter 4/5.
What a wonderful book! I was glued to this book from start to finish! Very eye opening account of the fear of the Nazis during WW2!
Thought I've heard Corrie's story many times, visited the Beje as a child, and read other iterations of her story, this kept me engaged from first to last. The faith with which Corrie and her family move through life is inspiring, even in the "small" ways it expressed itself in their quiet family home before the war.
Four stars for the piece of writing and twice as many stars for the incredible story. I guess that will have to average out to five stars.

Read back when I was in junior high...I don't remember much but I remember how I felt...I absolutely loved it. I remember it really affecting my life.
