I think I would be better served with a better translation - there’s a lot that just… doesn’t work. The tone frequently doesn’t suit the subject matter and I think the poor translation hindered my understanding of finer plot points and characterization. I do really appreciate the “angry exes” energy that it gives Faust and Meph, though.
