George Orwell gaslights the animals hard in this book. It's pretty fast-paced and entertaining albeit a tad dark for children.

This is probably my favourite book of all time. I have only read it twice so far and I can’t stop thinking about it.
Small Spoiler Below
As a part of my grade 12 politics class, we watched a series of lectures called ‘The American Paradox’ by Heather Cox Richardson and it’s available free on youtube, and essentially it was american equality is based on inequality and the fear the becoming equal will make everything unequal. I though about this when I reached the ‘All animals are equal but some are more equal than other’ line and holy shit. (That was the series thesis and I read animal farm after that)

I loved the writing style and after I started reading I just kept reading. It also has a great audiobook version on spotify. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

As of today, this has been one of the only classic's that I have really enjoyed. I thought that the story and writing was great. This book is able to teach a lot and has a great message.

I read this book in one sitting, I definitely recommend it to others because it is a quick and easy read that can provide some insight and perspective.

I read this book for the Classics Reading Challenge.

I liked the unbothered cat. She was indecisive and didn't care much for others. What an icon. Otherwise, the character development was well-done, and I had a lot of fun seeing how the characters gradually transform.

An allegory for a totalitarian regime. An enjoyable and thought-provoking fable. This story will certainly not make you tedious.

There are no lines I'd like to share.

The end was fabulous! I like the note it ended on.

A timeless and provocative story. I'm glad I read it.

Animal Farm is a book about a group of farm animals that overthrow and chase away their exploitative human rulers in order to establish their own egalitarian community. The revolution is eventually overturned by the animals' cunning and power-hungry leaders, the pigs. The pigs construct a government even more repressive and merciless than that of their former human rulers, concluding that "all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others" (with its amendment to the animals' seventh commandment: "All creatures are equal").

Now I see how essential this book is; I loved the message and everything, but it's dull otherwise. That's all I have to say. I get the frenzy, but the book isn't for me, or is it because I read it for English class? We'll never find out.

PSA: Never trust a pig. :)
