This book was recommended to me as it was a Hugo Award winner. It's definitely not within my usual reading genre so I was a bit reluctant to take this on. I am so glad I did. By the second chapter I was immersed in the world of orogenes and The Stillness. This book follows three characters and it all comes together beautifully towards the end. 10/10 recommend.

So much about this book is really amazing: the world building, the characters, the writing, the reveals. It's all so original. The only drawback is that I found it quite hard to get into, I think this was because the first half was quite slow. Now that I am invested in the story though I think it will be easier to get into the second book.
