Woooow fantastic, haven't enjoyed a fantasy this much in a long time. Definitely one of the greats. I enjoyed every POV, which is rare for me, as there's usually one I favor, and Jemisin's use of second person perspective was super cool.
More spoilery thoughts:
The part about all POVs being Essun was something I suspected, especially since there were no time stamps, and it came together marvellously. And the Beloved-esque scene about Coru was built up to so perfectly and was heart-wrenchingly tragic when it happened.

made it to page 234 and am calling it quits. we got three different POVs and one is more boring than the other. you would think that by now (almost 50% into the book) it would get interesting or at least pick up some speed but nope. i can’t even tell you which character i like less or more cause they’re so … meh.

It's my first time reading a dark fantasy. The themes were heavy, but the book is great.
A bit hard to follow at first as the world is so different, but picks up a good pace. Not sure I'm a huge fan of the multiple (3) storylines going on at the same time and the back and forth, but overall a compelling story and world environment. Interested to see how this trilogy plays out.
