Grace and Noah first meet when they were six and seven, respectively. She's the new girl in town and he's the wild trailer trash. They quickly become inseparable. As they grew older, they grow closer and closer, and their feelings for each other change. Circumstances intervene, and they are torn apart, not once, but twice. Will these two young lovers ever be truly together?
Grace narrates their story with the wisdom of hindsight, dropping hints here and there of the tragedies to come. Every chapter also starts with a little insight from Noah, giving us his take on the situation. While the story is okay, the poorly worded sentences and abundance of editing errors (e.g., lack of commas, missing words, incorrect word usage, mixture of past and present tenses) make it nearly unreadable.
In addition, both Grace and Noah act way older than their age. As Grace's dad says, "Do they ever act like seven-year-olds?" And, sorry, it just makes me feel icky reading about kids having sexual experiences. At 13 (and even 16 and 17) Noah is a very skilled and generous lover, even though he has never had sex. It's also a bit disconcerting that one of the first times Grace and Noah have actual intercourse, it's a rape fantasy. Then, after they're broken up for a year, they have angry, drunken sex. Not cool. And don't get me started on the lack of communication! Lives are ruined over the numerous misunderstandings. Why can't people just talk to each other? Extremely frustrating.
Warnings: coarse language, underage sex, drug use, sex scenes.
I received this book in return for an honest review.

Such a sweet, amazing book omg.
This book made me cry. I need to find me someone like Noah! *sighs*
This is a beautifully written, and so, so emotional. One that is of a love that never dies and pulls a boy out of a dark life, a love that gives a boy hope and has him strive to prove himself. A love that endured absences and heartache but came out stronger in the end.
I highly recommend it!

I loved some parts of the story more than others. I wish more of the story was adulthood and not so much of their childhoods. And maybe I was just a super late bloomer, but I think the first thoughts of lust/love & the first parts of their physical relationship started way too early. Like I think I was coloring in coloring books at that age...and I'm talking kids coloring books with crayons and not the adult ones people do these days with fancy markers lol.

« Fuck, Grace, you’re my sun, you’re my moon and stars; my world revolves around you no matter how much you want to deny it. »
Each time i finish a Michelle Gross book the only thought i have is : Wow this book was beautiful. The author has a way with words that makes finish the book in less than 24h. I love going through this journey with Noah and Grace. If you loved thousand boy’s kisses this has the same vibe with better writing, happy ending and better characters, Noah was the perfect child, teenage and man. The way he loved Grace most of his life is so beautiful.

I… I really liked One Percent of You from the same author but this one… What the hell? So disappointing. I didn’t want to read about all those high school shit. And there’s nothing much. Sure, Noah is sweet and all, but everything else? Sucks. Grace, though… I don’t like her character.
No, I didn’t enjoy it. :(
