"I just wanted to write to tell you that I have been happy during these months together, that I have never been so happy, and that I already know I will never be so happy again."
This was a short, tragic, gay read. I genuinely liked it, though I feel I cannot comment too much on the plot because I'm not a gay man. I don't have too much to say since it was so short -- but "Part 3 - 2016" broke my heart. I'm not ready to ever reach that phase in my life, the age where you miss a call and worry that someone you love has passed.
Other quotes I liked:
"It seems crazy not to be able to show our happiness. Such an impoverished word. Others have this right, and they exercise it freely. Sharing their happiness makes them even more happy, makes them expand with joy. But we’re left stunted, compromised, by the burden of having to always lie and censor ourselves."
"“Don’t leave me . . . Your absence has broken my life . . . ,” or “I’m an empty house without you . . . Let me become a shadow of your shadow . . . ,”"
and lastly...
"It suits everyone to believe in an accident. It’s less embarrassing than a suicide."
Heart = broken.

a book like a hitched breath. besson is such a masterful storyteller. i cant help but point out coincidences, were studying shakespeares sonnets and one in particular (sonnet 17) rings so familiar. i did find myself enjoying more the intricacies of a writer in love, and how craft cant be entirely separated from the craftsman, it will always reek of their life.

Nogal sentimenteel, enigszins zelfingenomen geschreven, zelfs een beetje cringy (bij momenten). Afgezien van een mooie zin hier en daar, deed het mij vrij weinig.
