Dragon Slippers proved to be an absolute delight of a read.
The voice of Dragon Slippers is Creel. She is a young lady whom experiences an adventure of meeting, befriending and defending dragons. Not only does she experience dragons she experiences an adventure of making her own way in the world. On her own, she meets many people those whom show kindness and those who show rudeness, wickedness, etc.

One of the wonderful aspects of this book is how Creel deals with those who not only show kindness towards her but with those whom are negative. She handles herself in an upstanding and positive light.

As I started reading this book I was struck by the easy flow of the storytelling. The unfolding of the story flowed in a nice slow storytelling pace. It was not slow in the sense that the story did not move along, it was slow in the sense that the narrator did not give a feeling of being rushed in her telling. I really enjoyed the pace.

Dragon Slippers is a fabulous youth read. The story contains action and adventure. The storyline is entertaining while it has a wonderful telling of kindness, helping those in need, doing what is right, taking responsibility.

The ending of this delightful storytelling was very satisfactory on many levels.

This was an absolute delight to read! The writing is similar in form to Shannon Hale so anyone who enjoys Shannons books will LOVE this as well.

I LOVED that the heroine was a stong, independent, free-thinking girl! (And I must admit that I, myself have developed a wee bit of a crush for Luka!)

This book was such a fantastic commentary on the different types of people that weave in and out of our lives. The story was great but I was more impressed with the way that Jessica captured the personalities of the people in the story.

Add this to your lists to read, you will not regret it!

I love young adult and children's fantasy. The author of this book is a young mother who is a BYU graduate. I hope she keeps writing!

Very fun and lighthearted novel I would especially recommend to young girls. I loved the focus on embroidery, the different dragons, and the female friendships the main character finds when she goes to the city.

It was my aunt who decided to give me to the dragon. Not that she was evil, or didn’t care for me. It’s just that we were very poor, and she was, as we said in those parts, dumber than two turnips in a rain barrel.

The start of this book reminded me of [b: Dealing with Dragons|150739|Dealing with Dragons (Enchanted Forest Chronicles, #1)|Patricia C. Wrede|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1385526967l/150739._SY75_.jpg|1178402]. While I wouldn't have been opposed to something similar, I was pleasantly surprised that the start was the only similarity.

Dragons, strong female lead, cute, creative, and a good read for a teen audience. Definitely what I needed!

How this book got a rating of 4.20, I'll never know. The whole book was very boring, up until last chapter or two. It is incredibly dull and I would not recommend it.

WHAT? Dost my eyes deceive me? AHH!! Nope, I'm not squealing right now. I didn't stay up until 11:30 reading this while my family watched Avengers. And I'm not swooning over Luka. Nope.

OK, so... This writing is AMAZING! It reminds me of my very favorite author, Shannon Hale, and it's just beautiful! I've always loved the "fairytale" books, and this one DID NOT disapoint. At first, I thought it might be 3 stars, maybe 4. But I had to go with 5 because of... everything! Ahh maybe I should wait longer until I review after I finish the book, when I'm calm... But anyway, I would highly recommend! One of my favorites.

Meh. The writing was good enough but the story started to bore me in the middle and dragged on after that. I don’t think the dragon/fair maiden genre is for me.
