I have to say I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand it was about the common experience of being human on another it reminded me how my own path/journey/orbit called life looks very different from so many others for a variety of reasons (I am NOT unique in my path but being ace and autistic means I experience life differently from many (not all)) So when I finished reading the book I was not sure how I felt nor why what Sugar said (which was similar to what others have said) felt like it was being spoken in a different language or said in code.

I don’t have adequate words for how much I loved this book. I love that with each letter we learn more and more about Strayed as a person. I love her insight to seemingly impossible dilemmas. She has a way of simplifying complicated emotions and behaviors so that we remember to humanize ourselves from the outside looking in on people who are flawed and struggling. A gut-punching and enlightening read.

Was not my favorite. At times, seemed like repetitive themes. Found myself fast forwarding until I found themes more applicable to me/my life stages.

One of those books that you find right at the moment you need it, although I feel like this would be true for anyone who picks up this book at any time in their life…
