Das Stück fängt so gut an, nur das Ende ist ja mal komplett beschissen. Als ob er einfach so mir nichts, dir nichts davonkommt.

After attending a fantastic production of A Doll House two nights ago, I felt a need to dust off my Ibsen anthology and go to town. As the major prose plays are compiled chronologically, this was the first that I read. And... wow. I had forgotten how powerful Ibsen's work is. This is perhaps slightly more hamfisted than some of his later work, but even so it provides a remarkable commentary on the social conditions of the day, as well as a plea for equality and restraint from throwing stones at glass houses (it also has one of the only happy endings that I have ever seen in an Ibsen play). I am so happy to read the rest!
