Quite a 'meh' read, to be honest. It did not have any great concepts as in the Foundation series, nor did it have the interesting characters of the Robot series. The character of Arti felt very dated with the "damsel in distress" tropes.

A fun journey but felt like it had a lot of remixed ideas from second foundation plot-wise. Surprised no mention of psychohistory but maybe it’s coming in the next two.
A step down from the thrill of the 4 Robot novels but still another great adventure from the sci-fi master.

Forgot to post this one as "currently reading" and now I'm done with it. Standard sci-fi, better writing than I'm used to from Asimov but then there's the corny romance angle. Kind of cool suprise ending but this might have made a better short story than a short novel.
They've got the other 2 novels in this "trilogy" on CD also so I may get to those too.

Great beginning, poor middle, good end. If it wasn’t so short I don’t think I would’ve finished it and it’s hard to decide whether to continue the series. Would recommend other books
This Asimov novel has more technical explorations than his others, so if you’re into more of that in your sci-fi then you might like this. I personally like his works that lean more toward philosophical explorations. Beyond this insight, I’d say this is classic Asimov. Characters that have infallible and somewhat far fetched deduction capabilities, a mystery with a bunch of twists, and a story that has ties to other works in his oeuvre. Overall it is entertaining enough and the end is satisfying.
