the ending felt a bit rushed. Mickey’s journey with navigating depression as an athlete was impactful, however, I would’ve liked to see more development and interactions with his teammates in the second half of the story.

I think everything about this book was great until the end which felt rushed. I think about 50 more pages could have helped a lot. The family plot was compelling but solved too fast and with how short the story was it took away from the romance. I liked the open ended ending though. I thought that team dynamic was fun and as a reader I almost felt like I could be a part of it.
"I wake up hating myself.
It’s not an unfamiliar thing, but it’s not welcome, either."
This really should have been a series. Mostly, because everything was happening too fast. I wanted more of a slow burn (both in romance and in friendship), and for Mickey's family problems to be more in the story. It's still better than most YA (new adult, kind of?) romances, but it could have been much better. 3.5 stars.
"Everything’s okay. Everything is going according to plan. I have no reason for sleepless nights, no reason to be so damn miserable all the time."

pretty good book
was a really cute romance and it wasnt cliche
had the 'enemies to lovers' trope that i thought played out well
it was good! you should read it. not my favorite but i really did enjoy it.

An easy read. A pretty good portrayal of depression and I love hockey and rivals. But wtf was that ending. Docked from four stars to three just for that. 3.5/5.
Did I like the book? Yes. Was it cute? Yes. Did it have good mental health representation? Yes. For those three things alone, it gets 3 stars.
Buuuuut I genuinely didn't remember reading it and its been less than a week. I enjoyed it, but not memorable, especially in comparison to some other MLM YA stuff I've read.
