I heard that if you like rwrb, you'll probably also like icebreaker, so you KNOW I have to check it out at some point
Wow! The grip the novel had on me in the 2 days that I was reading was so intense. The main cast of characters was relatable with their different lives and struggles they faced throughout the narration of the story. Coller and Mikey are relatable with their anxieties and struggle with determining their future careers in college and Hockey. The diversity in the characters also shone through with vibrancy.
While this takes place in college, the main focus is on the NHL and Hockey drafting, which for me was something I did not know much about going into the story. However, I did not feel like I was drowning in the information I had to look up to understand. Graziadei did a wonderful job of describing what was going on in the hockey world without just telling readers what was going on, they truly 'showed' readers what it is like for these players to go through the process of drafting.

This was a reread for me. I initially rated it 3.5☆ but I liked it so much I decided to bring it up to a 4☆.
I'm a bit mad rn because I had this very long review on this book but goodreads decided to delete it for whatever reason and I'm too lazy to type out a long review again.
So all I'll say is, I really liked this book. It was great, easy to understand even with all the hockey talk and I liked the characters.

Very cute read. Enemies to lovers but in a cute fun way
this was cute!! the ending was a bit cheesy but not necessarily in a negative way, although it did feel a bit rushed. i feel like they definitely could have expanded on some aspects of the story a bit more.
i really enjoyed this book. i think the best thing about this book was mickey’s growth, that was done really well in my opinion. his character arc made sense and i was rooting for him to get better as the book went on. seeing him finally accept himself and learn to cope with things better as he leaned on his team was nice to see.
even though im sad that i’ll never truly know who got the top draft spot, im glad that mickey was able to find joy in hockey and jaysen.

Love this book! Started out as a cute, adorable, and fluffy romance but ultimately turned out to be so much more than that.
A nice rivals to lovers book that uncovers so much about mental health regarding athletes and legacies. Not only that, but it goes into the impact of the presence of family members. While the book does go through everything pretty quickly, I think it does a fairly good job covering all the issues it addresses considering how short it was. I’m not sure if you can ever have enough time to fairly or realistically cover even a single mental health topic considering the state of mental health in the world today.
I think this book is a great quick and easy read. Enjoyed it very much.

I love this book so much as a teen who might need to go on anti anxiety meds watching mickey struggle with this his depression and struggle to accept he needs meds it made me feel less alone. and I related a lot with how mickeys depression manifest into daily life and for once I felt seen. I've reread this both multiple times and I can't get over it
