I found myself enjoying Your Blood, My Bones a lot more than The Whispering Dark, though I was pleasantly surprised to see characters from the latter were present. This story has a wonderfully creepy atmosphere and an engaging pace. The main characters aren't necessarily lovable, but they are compelling. The plot was quite harrowing and there were moments throughout the book that brought tears to my eyes. Overall this book was very well done and I'm looking forward to reading the author's next offering from this world she has created.

Your Blood, My Bones is a delightfully spooky book that is very intense in all the best ways. The descriptions of the setting in this book were beautifully written and the relationships were heartbreaking to read about. Wyatt and Peter are such compelling and loveable protagonists and they are what really made this story blossom as well as it did.

This was the first Kelly Andrew book that I've ever read and I have to say I was not disappointed in the slightest. I was a little nervous going into the book because, between the cover, the title, and the description my expectations were very, very high, but this book definitely surpassed my expecatitions. I fell in love with these characters and the farm that the story takes place in. I felt like I was right there in the cottage with Wyatt as her world was turned upside down and she had to figure out how to set it right again. I cannot recommend this book enough it was such a fun read! Whenever I would pick this book up I had a very hard time putting it down. Thank you so much to the publisher for allowing me access to an eARC via Netgalley!

I had really high hopes for this book, but I just did not vibe with it, unfortunately. I probably would have DNF’ed it if it wasn’t a part of a readalong…

I was really confused about the magic system, which was never really explained, yet played a big part of the story. So I was confused pretty much throughout the entire book.

I did really like the way the characters were described and it felt as though their decisions made sense.

This book brought me such heartache. I really loved it even though it left me a little depressed at the end. It definitely didn't turn out the way I was hoping it would and I hope that we get another glimpse of these characters like we did with Lane and Colton from The Whispering Dark.
Speaking of, I did not see the connection to The Whispering Dark coming at all but when it hit me, I was so excited. It's been a while since I read that book so the names didn't come to me immediately, but there was one line and it instantly clicked. I had to grab my copy off the shelf and skim it because I was so giddy. I love discovering that two books take place in the same world and the same timeline and it's always nice to have a little moment with the characters again, almost like checking in on how they're doing.
I loved the dark moodiness of it and the tension was amazing throughout. There were so many familiar cryptids as well as ones I've never heard of and it made for such an unsettling story. You never felt safe so it was a great thriller that I couldn't put down.
I can't wait for Kelly Andrew's next book. Both of these have been amazing reads so I will definitely pick up her next release.

The book starts out a little slow.  While I generally only use deus ex machina to describe the end of a story, it felt like that in the beginning.

This book really focuses on home.  Not the physical place, but the people who make a place home.  The author uses inosculation as both a descriptor for the main trio’s friendship and the main theme.

Because when you grow up with someone, you can’t not be inextricably connected.

This book is dark.  Nobody is good or bad.  While there are instances of dark humour, this is not a happy book.

The author writes luscious and breathtaking imagery, though, and by the end part of my soul is entrapped in this book.
