When I finished this book I had to sit in silence for a few minutes to let the afterglow of the magic settle. I loved it!
I fell in love with the Mystwick School of Music in the first book; I love the world of Mystwick and the music spells that keep the world running. Unlike the first book, though, I loved Amelia in this book. Her friendship with Jai is fantastic! They understand each other and have so much fun. Jai made me laugh out loud several times.
Then the story of the Midnight Orchestra was exciting! It wasn't too scary to recommend to my children but it was still mysterious enough to keep you guessing and wanting to know what happened next. So well done!

My kids thought it was fantastic. Both disliked one character but felt it was ok in the end because of the change that happened. Overall he enjoyed how fun the story was. My daughter loved the music. We all thought Jai was amusing and wonderful in his support of Amelia. We are looking forward to book 3.

Musical magic abound is at it again with shocking "oh mys" plot points. Satisfying continuation indeed. In addition, I feel the "unpleasant" characters who are also musical prodigies highlight an important message of...even prodigies as kids MUST be raised well or else! (Oh yes I did witness this for real!)

I have a strong GUT feeling we will meet Luca the brat prodigy again and I have a suspicion, based on the way music spell composing works coupled with his arrogant attitude, there is something sinister about him and/or his talent
this was a great sequel, super fast laced and with a good plot twist. I’m really coming to love the found family in this series!
One of the best middle grade books I've read in years! The story is fabulous enough to shine in print, but if you can get the audiobook, do! It is exceptional. My daughter wants to be Amelia Jones for Halloween this year and even my husband who doesn't read is hooked on this series. 14/10 cannot recommend enough
