What a great sequel to The Mystwick School of Musicraft! The storyline, with the mystery involved, was so good. At the end of the previous book, Amelia had both legitimately earned her place at Mystwick and had stopped an invasion of ghosts. No longer an imposter at Mystwich, but a full-fledged student.
As The Midnight Orchestra begins, Amelia is confident and looking forward to learning more about how to compose with the new maestro who is coming to teach her. When a new vehicle pulls up, that's who Amelia thinks is inside, until the person emerges from the car and she discovers that the person inside is none other than Amelia Jones, the other Amelia Jones, the one whose place Amelia had "stolen" in the previous book. Suddenly, Amelia's newfound confidence is put to the test, and she is struggling to hold on to it.
In addition, Amelia is invited to a performance of the Midnight Orchestra - an orchestra that seems as much myth as reality. When Mr. Midnight gives her a sunflower seed that contains magic designed to help her compose in exchange for a favor. But will Amelia be able to pay the price?
This book was so good, and the narrator did an absolutely fabulous job. The music was, again, a wonderful accompaniment to the story. With the way this story concluded, I sincerely hope that the story doesn't end here. I look forward to any upcoming sequel, should it happen to come about.

People are still talking about how Amelia Jones unleashed ghosts all over school. She didn’t know she could compose music. Their isn’t another student at Mystwick who can and there hasn’t been one in twenty years. Though she is excited to meet her composing teacher, Amelia is still reluctant to try and compose. She does not need a repeat of her last musical blunder.
Speaking of ghosts, the REAL Amelia “Mia” Jones arrives at the school ready to take her spot as the real Amelia Jones. She constantly teases and mocks Amelia, kicks her out of her room she shares with Darby, and also makes Amelia question her friendship with Darby. That is just one thing Amelia has to worry and stress over. She receives not one, but two strangely obscure invitations. One is to join some other students as a composer in a magically musical battle of the bands. Ummm… Where do I buy tickets? The second is to join the Midnight Orchestra. This orchestra is so elusive that most people believe it to be a myth.
Things go south, fast, in every aspect of her life and Amelia is questioning everything about who she is and why she is even at Mystwick. She is also learning things about her past that have her stumbling around school and her friends wondering who she can trust and let it.
