I’ve enjoyed this series since day one, but this installment felt like a cumulation of all of the great things in the previous books. I love that Stewart continues to explore multiple points of view, and continues to offer a unique and compelling portrait of New Jersey in the early 20th century— this one set in 1918, I believe, with the war just over and a different domestic disaster suddenly descending on the Kopp sisters. I don’t want to spoil anything, but the developments in this story make me even more eager for the next, not least for the glamour that Fleurette so unapologetically brings to the table.

Would recommend: Sure, if you are already a fan of the series (which really has to be read in order)
Entertaining as always! I enjoyed the focus on Fleurette this time, and I'm glad there's more to come. The tone of these books is delightful and light, but I like knowing it's based on real people, which makes the story even better.

I am such a fan of the Kopp sisters, and I loved that Flourette took center stage in this one. This series is just the right balance of great characters, interesting historical context, and well-paced plot. The author’s note also indicates that she’s got more installments up her sleeve and when they’re ready, I’ll be here for them.
It’s refreshing to have all of the Kopp sisters under the same roof, as the storylines dovetail nicely, with great foreshadowing in place.

This is definitely Fleurette's book to shine, as she grows up quite a bit. I also enjoyed her job for Mr. Ward and the way she used what she's learned from Constance and Norma to help a swindled woman. The ending definitely will keep me reading of the further adventures of the Kopp sisters!
Another fantastic Kopp story. After 7 books, I am so sad to see the number of reviews and readers drop. This is such a great historical fiction series, so under appreciated.
This story highlights the youngest Kopp sister, Fleurette. Loved the new viewpoint and getting more from her. The ending was amazing and after reading the historical notes, am already excited for the next installment.

No one deals with adversity better than the Kopp sisters! And after the passing of their brother, they circle the proverbial wagons to help out their sister-in-law and her children. There were several things I really loved about this story. First, it featured Fleurette and as much as I still think Norma might be my favorite Kopp sister, I really enjoyed getting to know more about Fleurette and find that she isn't the vain airhead that I've always viewed her as. Second, I enjoyed the combination of the mystery Fleurette takes on investigating on her own along with the mystery regarding the deceased brother, Francis. It made for a really solid overall read. As always, Ms. Stewart does an incredible job of bringing the time period to life through the interspersing of real events and her fictional take on real people. I strongly recommend reading the entire series and reading them in order! It will only enhance your enjoyment of this latest installment.
