Tengil osv? Och varför kom inte deras mamma?

Huh. Never thought I'd read a children's book where suicide is presented as a better option than trying to live in a flawed reality, but here we are. What the hell. I really love Astrid Lindgren, but this massively didn't hit for me.

the best childrens book ever

I had completely forgotten how tragic the beginning and end is of this. How was I not absolutely traumatized by those as a kid?
Despite the delayed trauma, I really enjoyed this dip into a story from my childhood. I only vaguely remember the book, but I do remember that there was a movie with a super calming narrator voiceover thing, instead it being dubbed. That was nice, I really miss those!
