I enjoyed the Netflix adaptation of Get Even, so when I found out the show was based on a book series, I had to check it out. While the book differs from the show timeline in some ways (and is set in the US instead of Britain) it was still nice to reenter the universe. I’m curious to see which elements of any of this second book will materialize in the show if they get a second season.
3.5
I like the first book slightly more than this one. I loved to come back to DGM ! I didn't guess the ending at all.

"They had to see this through, no matter the outcome. Last time they tried to make a stand against the killer, Kitty had let her fear and her bitterness control her decisions. But this time it was all about the team."
This book was mainly driven by one plot: finding the killer. And while our main characters weren't the greatest detectives, it was still quite enjoyable to be back in this world! For once, I couldn't figure out who the murderer was. Although I found the ending to be quite abrupt and just neatly wrapped in a bow to solve every problem, I was still surprised at who it was eventually. As a series, this was long enough and overall it was an enjoyable read!

This was a really fantastic book! Really enjoyed the twists and turns, and how it ended up, that was really great! I didn't suspect person who is the bad guy! Can't wait to read more books by Gretchen McNeil!
The story of the DGM from Get Even continues in Get Dirty. Bree is in Juvie after admitting to being involved with DGM, but before long, her long absent mother comes home from France and Bree is released into her custody. Her house arrest is enforced by Olaf, her mother's driver/bodyguard. Even though the four girls involved in DGM stopped their pranks, a new group of copycats has taken over where they left off. Meanwhile, a string of murders and missing survivors of DGM pranks causes the entire high school to fear what may happen next.
Get Dirty finally answers the questions left at the end of Get Even but not before the suspect list becomes extremely long with a corresponding number of clues, motives, and alibis, making this a very complex mystery. The story becomes so convoluted that by the end, it is fairly far-fetched. However, the characters are interesting and the suspenseful build up to the twist at the end makes this book worth the read.
