I really enjoyed reading this book. To understand what has happened in her life and why she chose certain paths she took was fascinating to read!
I won this book as part of a giveaway from Simon & Schuster hosted by Goodreads. I am so glad I won!! What a poignant, smart, sweet, short-and-to-the-point novel. I had no idea about Kelly’s background before she came to be Emily Gilmore on Gilmore Girls. It was such an interesting read. Do yourself a service and pick up this book!

Great book that helped pull me out of a reading slump. I wasn’t a huge fan of all of the political commentary but I also understand that it is important to her so that is why it was included. I do feel like the quality dropped off a bit in the last third of the book but overall delightful.
Finished the audiobook in 2 days and it was an absolute delight. I rushed to watch 'At the Ballet' in A Chorus Line and now want a deep dive through the Kelly Bishop YouTube archives. It makes good sense that Elaine Stritch was such an inspiration for her, and the sustained pluckiness at 80 is just what I hoped. Her dancing to Broadway to screen pipeline was fascinating to me with sprinkles of bad dating stories and animal rescues in between.
I'll echo the other cries for more Gilmore Girls' BTS content, but the glimpse we got honestly made me a bit teary. There was so much love on that set and the magic of the Sherman-Palladino era is thankfully just as palpable on-screen. I guess I'll have to follow her advice about celebrating the past and not mourning it! What a life, what a memoir!

Gilmore Girls is one of my fave nostalgic shows. I loved Emily Gilmore so much. Listening to this book (read by the author) made it clear how much Kelly IS Emily embodied. She is witty and fun, unapologetically herself, and I loved listening to this. Her career progression and personal life was so interesting.
