This is my first Tom Robbins book and it was weird, but I really liked it!

I liked it, but not really. Not a huge Tom Robbins fan, and this didn't change my mind. At least it was short.

The idea of beer appeals to my inner blue-collar worker self. The reality of it makes me wrinkle my nose and stick out my tongue in a remarkable impression of the Mr. Yuk sticker. Nope, not a fan of beer, and not a fan of this book, with the exception of the parting speech the beer fairy gives Gracie, which should immediately be incorporated into every graduation ceremony address delivered in the U.S.

I'm told by fans of Robbins that I need to go read something else of his. Something with less beer and more cheer.

This is rather slight, but I enjoyed it. Don't expect anything more than a diverting and sometimes amusing fairy tale (literally) about beer -- how it is made and why humans enjoy it. It might help if you like beer. I do admire Robbins' ability to look at both the positives and negatives of situations -- he brings some nuance to it.

Cute, light with some true laugh out loud moments, Tom Robbins style. Makes me want to go back and read the Robbins titles I haven't yet read.

Not very humorous. Definitely a children's book with some parental discretion advised. I think I will stick to his novels, which I usually love!!
