3.5 stars. Some gems in here, but collection feels a bit haphazardly curated at times. Curious to see if I’ll feel more for Bright Dead Things.

There’s a reason she’s the poet laureate!
Just beautiful. Limon weaves the personal and confessional with the natural in a way that constantly had me reacting out loud! I highlighted so many incredible lines. Some of my favorite poems were: “The Hurting Kind”, “Calling Things What they Are” and “My Father’s Mustache”.
Really just took it slow and read a few poems each day.
Can’t wait to read more of Limon’s work!

But haven't we learned by now
that just because something
is bound to break
doesn't mean we shouldn't
shiver when it breaks?
