Very strong 3.5, but going all the way to a four doesn’t feel quite right. I really enjoy Limón’s style of poetry; encapsulates the feeling of place and people quite well. I’m interested in reading more of her work.

My favorite poems in order of appearance:

Drowning Creek
A Good Story
Foaling Season
Privacy
How We See Each Other
Sports
Hooky
The Hurting Kind

I thought it wouldn't be for me while reading the Spring part, but then Summer came... then Fall... then Winter- yeah no, it was for me alright.

"and because I cannot apologize to the tree, to my own self I say, I am sorry. I am sorry I have been soreckless with your life." a very simple theme and yet, I cried reading that.

Overall, this book made me want to read more poetry from now on.
