Not to be dramatic but sometimes I think "no one understands" and then I read Ada Limón and feel understood

this is the first of ada limón's works i’ve ever read and i really enjoyed it. the atmosphere her poems created almost felt like i was reading mary oliver: the linden blossoms, the bird’s wing, the dew-saturated blades of grass, all of it. however, it’s a far somber version of oliver’s works, casting a shade of grey over limón's poetry. this is a poetry book that talks about the pandemic without ever mentioning the pandemic.

A lovely collection to read aloud, again and again, and ruminate about.
