lighthearted
Liked it but didn't love it. Had all the things I hate with a passion:
- insta love
No matter how much passion or supposed "chemistry" you have with someone, you cannot convince me that you've suddenly fallen "in love" with them over the span of 7 DAYS. YOU JUST MET!!
- third act breakup
I felt like a lot of the issues with Enrique could've easily been solved without the breakup and tbh everything got resolved so quickly, there was no need.
It always felt like Luis had the upper hand in the relationship as he was constantly asking Sara to bear her soul to him but he didn't do the same. However, the family stuff was cute and I liked that both siblings got to express their side and no one was villainised. Cute and happy but idk certain aspects just irked me.

This book is super cliché. "Oh no, I need someone to pretend to be my boyfriend, quick! Oh no, now I'm actually in love with my fake boyfriend!". Unrealistic and telenovella-ish. Entertaining at times, but also dragging at others. They each have secrets that they won’t share and it gets annoying. Also the leading lady is a social media influencer- ugh. Not too bad, just not too great, either.

Sara is a well know social media influencer and she's traveling to meet up with her family for a a family vacation but her boyfriend cancels on her last minute. She meets the handsome firefighter Luis and they come up with a plan in which he helps her out while she's on this trip. Quickly they have to start working on creating a believable story for Sara's family. As in any rom com and fake relationship, they start spending a lot of time together and feelings start to develop.
Tropes:
Fake Dating
Strangers to lovers
one bed
I really enjoyed this story, Sara and Luis were such great characters and their family dynamics were extremely well thought out and developed. This is a fun and cute rom com.

First of all, THIS COVER IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! The aesthetic of it...! I just stare at it for minutes on end.
As for the book, I was hoping it would be similar to The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren, but it wasn't. I liked the Spanish aspect of this book, but I just felt the story fell sort of flat. I was hoping for more out of a book with this cover, but you know what they say...don't judge a book by it's cover!

I stuck it out to the "over halfway" mark and just couldn't do it any longer. Not my cup of tea. The story blurb made it sound fascinating, but both characters were a little too unbelievable. Also, it really felt like the story could have wrapped up at about 40% through, but there was still so much book left. Just did not keep my attention.
I really really liked parts of this book, but also struggled with others. I know I use romance to escape but I guess the week timeline kept taking me out of the read a bunch. The chemistry was great between Luis and Sara but again at the end I wasn't satisfied with the HEA.
