This second book in the Daevabad series incorporates the perspective of Dara, in addition to Nahri and Ali’s perspectives. In doing this, Chakraborty expands the information we can know and complicates our understanding of the Afshin.

I continue to enjoy an immersive reading experience (audiobook + ebook) to hear the beautiful narrative and also have the text to help with comprehension.

"The Kingdom of Copper" by S.A. Chakraborty is a fantastic follow-up to "The City of Brass." Picking up five years later, the story dives deeper into the lives of Nahri, Ali, and Dara as they face new challenges and old enemies in the magical city of Daevabad. The political intrigue, family drama, and magical elements are all brilliantly woven together. Chakraborty's world-building is amazing, making you feel completely immersed in this richly detailed setting. It's a gripping read that leaves you eagerly anticipating the final book in the trilogy.

if i need to read about nahri or dara pining for each other, despite realistically not knowing each other at all, for even ONE MORE SECOND i'm going to end it all

I did enjoy this book just not quite as much a the first one. I will say that this author definitely keeps you on your toes. I never know what’s gonna happen next and I appreciate that!
