i love holly blacks writing i really do. and her descriptions and setting are amazing! even her character development and depth of character is astonishing. i really liked the strange tension and question between roiban and kaye. although it was hard to keep reading the name kaye over and over since its close to my name.
the only reason i didnt rate it higher is because if you know me, i cant dwell on sad things and kaye comes from a pretty messed up background. so yeah thats it.
also the kelpie is totally my favorite.

I planned to give this book 3.5 stars but I think I HAVE TO ROUND IT UP JUST FOR ROIBEN. I swear I think I have a thing for men with absurdly long hair. I cannot wait to read more about them. I’m not really interested in reading Valiant but i heard i have to because important things happen for the plot… let me know if im wrong tho. I have to say, i think the start was a bit slow and it was a bit harder for me to read, English not being my first language, and this book being heavy on vocabulary. Sometimes I could not understand what was happening just with one read…
It was a hard read for sure, but the plot was beautiful nonetheless!!!!!!
++++ points for that white-haired fae knight. Rath Roiben Rye, the man you are.

I don’t think I’ve ever actually read a Faerie story like this one, meaning I’ve definitely never read one from the perspective of a changeling I was intrigued from around page 17 onward.
When the blurb described this book as “edgy,” I kind of thought to my self “psh, yeah okay.” But it actually is rather edgy for a YA novel, along with dark
I’m excited to continue on with the trilogy

This was alright. Most of my time was spent being confused in the beginning but as the story went on, it got more interesting to read about. The beginning was definitely slow, I found myself putting the book down many times, but once the actual plot of the book started it was quite easy to read through.
Przyjemnie się to czytało jednak nadal wolę okrutnego księcia
