can't believe I bothered finishing this. I don't remember HL's writing being so dense and impossible to understand

While I didn't think a sequel wasn't needed it was nice to see Scout all grown up and what she did after leaving Maycomb. It was a shock to learn that to me at least that Jem had been written out of the story. Overall, not a bad sequel, just felt unnecessary.

Enjoyable and homely, if a bit didactic.

I gave this two stars, but I loved this book! I study writing and although it reads as a two star unfinished piece, it was so fun to read this back to back with To Kill A Mocking Bird and see into the mind of Harper Lee. It's like the opportunity to discover what goes on in an author's mind BEFORE the real writing begins. It was a privilege. A five star for opportunity, but a two star book.

I’ve been listening to this book for about a month —— I don’t feel I can give a rating to this book — there are many controversial points in there and it was difficult to comprehend some people’s ways of thinking in the book — I am still digesting this book so can’t say if it’s good or bad book — I think how you like this book will —- well that really depends on the person reading it and their way of think in how they will interpret this book — the writing was fine by my standards and I listened to Reese Witherspoon read it — which she did a good job.
