I really really really wanted to enjoy Obsessively Yours.  I just read Viciously Yours and I had heard that this one was  better.  But oh my god, Violet made that nearly impossible. She’s the definition of a Mary Sue, she’s beautiful, desirable, and adored by every male character. But obviously she doesn’t see herself that way and believed she’s an ugly duckling or whatever.

I really hated that she has no meaningful relationships with other women. Not even one female friend. In fact, the author went out of her way to introduce side characters and then tell us how Violet and her weren’t close. That’s a big ole red flag in terms of how the character (and women in general) are portrayed in this book. She’s perfect and every other woman is sneaky and evil. We get it. She’s not like other girls.

If you’re looking for a heroine with depth, independence, or actual character development, you won’t find her here.

Roman was equally as annoying, trying to maim her friends who had the gall to try and hug her or look at her. Grow up.

Anyways. This book sucked. I won’t read the next one in the series because this one made me so angry.

thanks to the author for an ARC!

more plot and a little less widespread spice than book 1, but enjoyable all the same! i liked the twists around the rebels and who was/wasn't working with them (a few of my guesses were wrong!). looking forward to book 3 later this year.

I adored Viciously Yours and really wanted to feel the same about this one.  However, I was not happy with the resolution of the switching of the fated mates between the twins.  The gods just messed up?

Also, it gave me the ick that Violet always hid under furniture when scared.

Roman was deliciously obsessive, but I would have enjoyed hearing more from War.

I generally liked it, but it did not make me feel as feral as the first one. The rebel storyline felt weak and uninspired to me.

This series is such a fun romantasy read. Roman is OBSESSED and fully “F*** the gods” to be with the girl he wants. Violet is known as the sweet twin but she wasn’t flat. She’s so bad at math and does Winston in New Girl type pranks. The portrayal of her trauma from the castle being raided when she was young also felt so real. Only reason this wasn’t 5 stars is that I wanted the drama with the sister to be over faster.

Ahh this was such a fun read! It's been a while since I read Viciously Yours so when she met other kingdom's couples I got a little confused as to who they were 😅

So far both MMC's in this series have been virgins who've fallen so hard they would do anything for the women they obsess over and love...and I am here for it!

I could not put this down from the moment I picked it up. Absolutely unhinged but in the best way
