Thank you JAH for the eARC of Obsessively Yours! I will honestly read anything you write. Grocery lists. Tardy slips. Anything.
This book was amazing. I absolutely loved it. Obsessively Yours follows Roman, future king of the Tropical Kingdom, and his journey to making his best friend Violet his fated mate. It's filled with (traumatic) rebel attacks, sweet stalking, cute little gifts, and amazing "touch-her-and-die" vibes. 10/10. No notes.

Jamie Applegate Hunter, what kind of crack are you putting in your books! At this point in my life she has become one of those authors where I instantly buy her work. If she writes it, I'm gonna read it.
I was very surprised when I saw the length of this book after reading Visciously Yours, which was a quick novella that I devoured in about half a day. But I can tell you that didn't stop me from flying through this book, unable to put it down!
Roman and Violet are such a dynamic couple and their story is filled with ups and downs and while you know they'll end up together because of what we learned in VY, there are still moments where you question "will they or won't they" the tension is beautiful and it pulls your focus in. I couldn't put the book down. I was in heaven.
If you're looking for a fun, spicy romance novel with a morally grey main character that has no intention of bettering himself and will burn the world down for his woman, this book is for you! At no point will you question if he's crossed a line because it doesn't matter it is for the LOVE OF HIS LIFE AND EVERYONE ELSE CAN GO TO HELL!
Now, to sit and impatiently wait for the next book, which based on JAH's Instagram posts, will absolutely destroy me.
Thank you to Jamie Applegate Hunter for the copy of the eARC!

Wtf kind of addictive drug is in these damn books? Thank you to Jamie for the gifted advance copy. 🫶🏻
This one is quite a bit longer than the first, but it’s because the MCs know each other from a pretty young age, so we get to see the very beginning.
I fucking LOVED Violet. She’s hilarious - honestly, I think I laughed out loud at least three times before even getting to chapter 1 because of some shit the author wrote.
I love Rennick, don’t get me wrong - but Roman? SHEEEESH. 🙂↕️ my man’s a simp for his mates sister. Stalker tendencies, and “look at her wrong and die,” or “think about her and die.” 🙌🏻
I was up all hours of the night inhaling this damn thing. I found Easter tedious as I had to step away from this book to, like, visit family or whatever. 🙄😒 haha

I absolutely love Jamie Applegate Hunter’s writing, so when the opportunity to sign up for the ARC of her newest book came up, I signed up so fast. Then, when I saw that email come through last Thursday confirming I received the ARC? I wanted to scream with joy. I didn’t, though—because it was very late... or early, depending on how you look at it. Life didn’t exactly give me the chance to sit down and read straight through like I wanted, but every spare moment I had, the story was in my hands. I was obsessed (yes, that was a cheesy pun, I know).
Going in, I had an idea of what to expect from the tidbits we were given, and I knew it was going to break my heart—especially after listening to the Spotify playlist Jamie created. Knowing just a little about the story, and then hearing that playlist, completely wrecked me. So I entered the book with some caution, unsure of how much emotional devastation I was about to endure. In the end, my caution was completely useless, because I was sucked into the story so quickly and thoroughly that I forgot all about it. That is, until I reached a moment that gave me way too many feels and I connected it to a song from the playlist, thinking, "This fits perfectly."
It’s a bit of a contradiction because the book gave me so many emotions, but it was truly just a silly good time too. Was the MMC a little psychotic? Yes. Was he a green flag book boyfriend? Absolutely. Would he be jailed in real life for his actions? 100%, and it’s fantastic. The pining, the hope they had for each other, and the struggle to follow their hearts while staying loyal to their country and families made it so emotionally complex.
Vivian, though... well, maybe she’s tied with another character for being the worst. I know her situation wasn’t what she planned, but she played the victim role so hard, without a backward glance, that while I do feel for her, I also think she made her bed—and now she has to lie in it. It’s not a nice one.
I also really loved that, while the characters had their moments of conflict, the miscommunication between them was minor. Most of it stemmed from the MMC deciding he had to fix everything on his own, even though plenty of people were willing to help him. But I guess that’s just the "man" in him wanting to do it all himself.

A super simple (but great) story. Little bit of plot. Little bit of spice and a whole lot of entertainment. Highly recommend as a palate cleanser.
