The main reason I’m giving this a 5 star because The Prince did not kissed the Sleeping Beauty on the lips, but her pricked finger. It’s definitely a muslim-children friendly reads. Yes. I am a concerned mother. Its hard to filter what they saw and read on a daily basis. So, I’m glad to be able to revisit this childhood story of mine, in a retelling version, with that kind of “adjustment”.
One thing I realised, the characters are not all White. Glad they came up with a more diverse characters like these. I mean. Cinderella, Repunzel, Snow White and a few others are white. So why not a retelling with BIPOC characters? Its a breath of fresh air.
